The Utility Shirt is inspired by the style and music of Jesse Ed Davis III, perhaps one of the best session guitarists of his era. Davis is of Kiowa, Comanche, Seminole, and Muscogee (Creek) heritage. His cool confidence, style, and musical genius was put on display for decades and introduced many artists to Native American culture and styling which became the iconic look of the 60’s and 70’s rock scene.
We created the Utility Shirt to reflect the timeless style developed in that era and begin telling the unsung story of the influence American Indians have in pop culture. Produced in a small, family owned factory in Los Angeles, CA in an army fatigue green Japanese cotton twill, featuring two flap front chest pockets, one with a notch for pen or sunglasses and a chambray collar lining reinforcement. Style it layered, over your favorite Ginew Tee or by itself. Wear with spirit.
