NATIVE AMERICAN OWNED + DESIGNED CLOTHING COMPANY

Ginew: the first Native American-owned & designed denim brand in the world. We are a very small, family-owned, Native American clothing business. Each piece is meticulously designed and constructed, with family stories and traditions sewn into each garment. We are Ojibwe, Oneida, and Stockbridge-Munsee from the Great Lakes and we include our family stories and tribal symbols in each garment we make.

We explore our own family and tribal history. It is through this exploration that we are able to express our Indigenous identities in a contemporary context AND share this with the world. We focus on nature-provided materials and whenever possible, made in USA construction. You'll find we partner with sewers and manufacturers that share our mission of excellence and premium materials. Our collection includes selvedge denim, wax canvas outerwear, all-cotton tops and other garments and goods that reflect the need to offer items that last and last. No fast fashion here. Nearly all of our cut and sewn items are small batch, and for us that means 50-100 of each item created. We think that is pretty special, just like you. Nothing mass produced.

Part of our ethos is to transform how Native Americans and our history is portrayed in the garment industry. We embrace this possibility. Thanks for stopping by.
