NATIVE POP ART COLLIDES WITH THE BEST OF NATIVE AMERICANA

Erik Brodt shares the inspiration of the Ginew + Steven Paul Judd collection.

A kick-start of caffeine followed by buffalo-lemonade and a T-top moment with wind-in-the-hair adventure...

You never know what will result when a creative meeting begins with "Would you like to grab coffee?" You never know if the interaction will be calm or a flurry, yet it always seems to result in a creative gathering.  There we were...in what feels like the best of L.A. plopped down on a street in Oklahoma City. Fine, fine coffee and an avo toast worthy of any coast. What followed is what dreams are made of:

It just happened...and Steven warned me: "Here it comes. Hear me out. I am going to pitch you, man." Right there it was born. The Ginew + Steven Paul Judd capsule with the energy of coffee, stories of our names, of the buffalo, motorcycles, old trucks, and old cars. The chat weaved through my twists and turns, each topic melding idea upon idea and history upon history.

This inspiration led us to the open road. We took a ride with the T-top open, wind-in-the-hair, and engine roaring. It was mutual wonder meeting reality: Let's do this...and let's do this together. We will create - we will show what it looks like when Native popular art collides with the best of Native Americana.

This then led to the sharing of a meal. Sharing the substance of the creative mind always seems to lead to the sustenance of the body. Vegetarian + vegan food with lemonade that quenches.

Steven Paul Judd Buffalo Patch in red orange and yellow

BUFFALO SERIES
Based on Judd's inspiration of the sunsets on the Plains + his personal vintage rock tees. The colorway is a Vintage Black, made to look worn-in and slightly distressed to emulate the cracked and faded old rock tees. The print is plastisol ink. The art is striated from dark blue to bright blue into a split fountain of sunset colors. The ombré color effect of yellow, orange and red is reversed at the inside fill of the buffalo. The bright orange of the outline contrasts with the knockout outline of the Buffalo. Judd's signature on the graphic makes this a piece of wearable art!
