This story begins in Far Out, West Texas...when by serendipity our friends Colt & Logan (Cobra Rock Boot Co) introduced us to Brandon over a delightful dinner served at his place in Marfa, TX. Over the years, we’ve kept in touch as Brandon & Marielle shared the fades of his Ginew coat & about their dream to transition from the West Texas desert to the Appalachian Mountains. Enter the Indigo Prophet dream…
Indigo Prophet is nestled into the Smoky Mountain town of Marshall, North Carolina - close to Asheville - with a brick and mortar on Main Street proper, backed by the train tracks and beside the French Broad River. Brandon and Marielle are delighted to be a part of “a bit of a renaissance” in Marshall as old, vacant buildings and warehouses are being brought back to life after years of vacancy. Indigo Prophet now resides in the reimagined space which used to house the funeral home - with local visitors often stopping and commenting how they are happy to see new life back in the old bricks where their family members’ lives were celebrated.
The Ginew collection is available in the front half of their space - Indigo Prophet Shop - and compliments Indigo Prophet 5-pocket denim jeans, which are made by hand, on-sight in the back half of the shop by Brandon & Marielle. We LOVE their ethos and accountability as they seek to build something beautiful...something beyond fabric, seams, and stitching.
They say it best, “When we started The Indigo Prophet, one of the most important goals we set was to build community. We both moved individually from big cities to a small desert town because we were looking for something bigger than ourselves. We met in that small town and birthed this business in that small town and we want to bring the same familiarity, accountability and reliability that we found in that small town to everything we do.”
