Flowing through our ancestral lands are rivers, each providing necessary elements for the sustainability of the community - water, food, transportation and leisure. The West Fork of the Red Cedar River is the heart of the Stockbridge-Munsee Indian Reservation and runs right through our family’s dwelling.
Each Fall we hunt deer in the Great Lakes Region of USA, as our families have done since time immemorial, and include the deer skin patch on every jean to honor our traditional clothing. The rivets feature the Ginew® leaf and burrs are decorated with Ginew® crest symbol. The interior pockets are decorated with Oneida skydome and Ojibwe lodges symbols - designs traditional to our tribes.
The back pockets are half lined not only for reinforcement, but contains a hidden Thunderbird Chainstitch embroidery which will only expose itself when worn and faded over time. Made in a Classic Tapered fit and constructed in the USA, the West Fork Jean is truly a versatile and functional American classic. Our raw selvedge denim is designed with the intricacies of our tribal designs on the custom branded hardware, printed pocket bags and hunted deerskin leather patch. Wear with spirit.
