Milton Rider Coat Brush Brown / Harding Red
Every GINEW story starts somewhere real. This one starts with co-founder Amanda's grandfather, Milton.
This heirloom-quality wax canvas rider coat is inspired by his journey, commuting weekly from the Mohican Indian Reservation to work as a welder for Harley Davidson® during the 1950s and 60s. We built this coat to carry his story and the values he lived by: Resilience, Bravery, Honesty, Dedication, and Toughness. Most rider coats are built for looks. We crafted this one like a machine, built to endure, just like the Flatheads he welded.
The shell is 10.10oz Martexin Army Duck wax canvas, in Brush Brown, made for the US military by the same family for seven generations. It's weather-resistant, heavy-duty, and only gets better with wear.
The lining is 20.8 oz un-napped wool, twice the density of standard linings, in the Harding Red pattern woven by the experts at Pendleton®. It brings real warmth, and a rich, bold identity to the interior. A custom-quilted satin sleeve lining with contrast stitching keeps the chill at bay. Every button carries the GINEW leaf, cast from an actual leaf that fell from the white oak tree Amanda and Erik were married under, on a small farm in the Wisconsin countryside.
Each Milton Rider Coat is sourced and constructed in the USA. Modern fit, two front side pockets, two front chest pockets, and interior chest pocket. Nothing about this coat is rushed or wasted.
